Concurrently with the launch of the unique collagen biostimulator Sculptra in Cyprus, GJK Healthpharma Services Ltd proudly hosted a scientific conference at the Hilton hotel titled < Sculptra and its role in reversing ageing processes> on the 11th of March. Driven by our unwavering dedication to providing top-tier training to physicians, the highly-anticipated event proved to be an astounding success. A crowd of over 50 prominent medical professionals, gained invaluable insights from two esteemed speakers, plastic surgeon Dr. Sarit Cohen from Israel and Dr Dean Berman from Austria, who shed light on the latest advancements surrounding Sculptra and its role in reversing collagen loss.
Collagen provides structure and support to the skin. With facial aging, the skin’s natural collagen supply may decrease and could lead to skin laxity, wrinkles and roughness as skin quality worsens.
Sculptra® is a unique injectable collagen biostimulator containing microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), that may help replenish lost collagen by gradually stimulating and increasing an individual’s own natural collagen production, helping restore firmness and lift the skin, smooth facial folds and wrinkles, and restore skin quality. Sculptra® is also suitable for large volume corrections of the signs of facial fat loss.
According to well- designed, published clinical trials presented, Sculptra can achieve natural looking and long lasting results for more than 2 years. A high satisfaction rate is seen by 80% of the patients while 86,3% of patients maintain their clinical improvement at 25 months. According to another published study Sculptra has demonstrated an increase of 66,5% in collagen after only 3 months with only 1 treatment.
Sculptra® was first approved in 1999 in Europe and is the first and only FDA-approved PLLA facial injectable treatment. It’s currently available in more than 40 countries globally and has extensive scientific evidence on safety and efficacy with over 50 peer-reviewed published studies in more than 10,000 patients over the last 23 years.
“Sculptra® has been my choice for treating skin laxity resulting from collagen loss in my patients’ skin, helping restore a younger look,” said Dr. Sarit Cohen, Plastic Surgeon. “Its gradual, natural and long-lasting results are appreciated well by my patients”
“We are delighted and proud to extend our product range offering to doctors in Cyprus and yesterday’s event was an exciting, well-attended introduction to Sculptra®,” said George Kaimis, general manager of GJK Healthpharma Services Ltd. “Sculptra® is the foundation of the larger Galderma portfolio that includes the leading Restylane fillers that we represent in Cyprus, to deliver impressive and long-lasting results for healthcare professionals and their patients.”
